Its essentially Acadian inhabitants welcome you in a friendly atmosphere that reveals their pride and joy in life. This year 2010 commemorates the 225th anniversary of the settlement of Chéticamp on the world reknown Cabot Trail.
This summer, Le Festival de l’Escaouette in the Chéticamp area is better than ever before. From concerts and parades to “Un suête dans la Cabane” and « Soleil », there’s a lot to enjoy in Chéticamp this summer.
No other community on the Cabot Trail boasts such a diverse collection of offerings in the arts and culture sector: from folk art to fire crafts and gifts to cultural performances in dance, music and theatre, not to mention entertainment found in local bars and venues. Make sure you refer to the Chéticamp Visitor’s Guide for the schedule of events of Le Festival de l’Escaouette.
Singer-song writer, actor, radio and television host Roch Voisine is coming to Chéticamp in June. This international recording artist will be the special quest on the “La Petite Séduction” show to be filmed in Chéticamp June 17th to 21st. This is the first time this popular TV series is coming to Nova Scotia.
La Société St-Pierre is pleased to announce that the Acadian musical group 1755 will present a concert Thursday evening, July 1st at the Cabot Trail Arena in Chéticamp. The group 1755 was instrumental in popularizing Acadian music here in Atlantic Canada, and they have paved the way for many francophone artists over the last 25 years.
Tickets are $20.00 in advance or $25.00 at the door. This is a family concert and preschoolers get in free. Tickets are available on line at CKJM Radio or in the following venues; Charlie's Country Music Store, Le Conseil des Arts and Les Trois Pignons.
